  • Artist description

    At school, I crafted an artwork starting with six red paper strips, each one inch wide and 11 inches long, and six purple strips, each one centimeter wide and the same length. After cutting them out, I glued the strips together to begin my background. I selected a black construction paper, slicing one-inch intervals into it. Weaving the red and purple strips through these slits, I created a checkerboard pattern. Finally, I secured the ends and focused on the centerpiece. I fashioned a turtle silhouette and embellished it with a collage made from paper scraps.
